We are a family dedicated to the training and welfare of racehorses with over 30 years experience and success with the breaking and early preparation of thoroughbred and arabian racehorses the training of point to point horses, and pre training for the flat and national hunt racing.
All members of the family ride and have NVQ qualifications in racehorse care.
The Winks family were previously very successful arabian racehorse trainers from 1990 having owned and trained many winners including Aflame,a top English bred horse well known among arabian connections,has won numerous prestigious races sponsored by Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum and Sheikh Mohammed .Aflame's last win was at the age of 18 years and is still with us at Homefield Lodge at the tender age of 27 years and is still ridden out regularly.
Ryan Winks has ridden since the age of 4 yrs his experience includes bsja showjumping,hunter trials,and then racing he has ridden as a professional and also as an amateur jockey as did his father Peter who was also an assistant trainer to John Harris for a time in the 93/94 season training several winners on the flat and placings over hurdles and is the top northern novice amateur jockey for 2011
Your racehorse whether he needs specialist training ,schooling, or has sustained an injury and just needs a little time out will benefit greatly and appreciate a rest from time to time and will return to his training program with enthusiasm.
